Review: Nelf USA Waterproof Kohl Kajal

Hi Guys!! I hope you all are doing good..

Today I am going to review another Kajal from a new and emerging cosmetics brand called Nelf USA. Indian girls and Kajal are directly proportional to each other! (My exams are on my head and Physics has to interfere) *Chuckles*

These days, Kajals come in different colors and formulations unlike the old days when Kajal meant Black, just Black! This Kajal has a black color and I am really looking forward to see more and more colors from this brand in the future.

As our eyes are very very gentle, we must cross check while purchasing any eye makeup because you don’t want to take a risk. A lot of Kajal pencils have a high concentration of lead which is extremely harmful for the eye and can lead to a lot of serious problems.

This is when reviews come in handy. They let you decide whether you want to invest in a product or not, based on the experience of someone else. I have also reviewed Me-On Eyepnotyz Auto Kajal Pencil and Blue Heaven Soft Kajal Eyeliner on this blog.

If you are interested in knowing how this product worked for me, then please keep on reading this post till the end. Also, I’d like to mention that my review is based upon my oily eye lids.

Ingredients: Not mentioned

Cost: Rs. 249 for 0.25 g

Shelf Life: 36 months

Packaging: This Kajal pencil comes in a black colored cardboard carton. The actual product comes in form of a twist pencil with a black, glossy plastic body which has some improtant details mentioned on it. The pencil has the same glossy plastic, black cap which can be pulled out to get your hands on the tip.

The tip of this Kajal is safe inside the pencil and has a twist-up sort of opening. The overall packaging is basic but sturdy.

Color: Blackest Black

Finish: Matte

Texture: Very soft and creamy

My Experience:

Due to my oily eye lids and undereye area, most of the Kajals often smudge and look bad on me. Generally, I use a Kajal pencil as an eyeliner because why not and then slightly blacken my waterline.

This Kajal has a jet black intense color which pays off in a single swipe which really matters a lot while you are testing a new one. Everyone hates going over and over again on that line which does not look as black as it should be just because their Kajal does not have enough pigmentation.

This Kajal has a very nice and rich pigmentation and I hardly need a second coat. Since it opens in a twisting motion, a very little amount of product is required and there is very little product wastage. However, I wish there was a small sharpener attached at the end just like the Blue Heaven Kajal to adjust the thickness of line required.

This Kajal glides on very smoothly on the eyes and irritate them at all. It stays intact for more than five hours and does not smudge at all. When I tried to rub it under water, it faded very very lightly but remained almost water proof.

It settles into a matte finish and looks very intense and bold on the eye. Because it is water proof, it does not get away easily and I have to give myself an extra minute while removing my makeup.

It is quite long lasting and I think is a good competition to the already established brands in the market. The pigmentation, staying power, ingredients list, formulation and almost everything of this Kajal is very impressive.

Swatch of a single swipe on my eye

*Ingredients list not mentioned

Will I purchase it?
Yes. I like it in terms of everything and would like to grab another one once I finish it off.

WIll I recommend it?
Yes. This product is a really good one and does whatt it claims. It is definitely worth a try!

Is it worth the money?
Yes. If a Kajal stays for a really good time on my eye without stinging or irritating it and being smudge and water proof, it is definitely worth the price according to me.

My Ratings: 4.5/5

Final Verdict: Overall, it is a very good and intensely pigmented Kajal pencil which does not irritate the eye at all. It glides on to the eye effortlessly and does not smudge at all. It stays for a really long time and hardly needs any touchup!

I can’t wait to see more colors in this range and suggest the brand to come up with a more attractive packaging and try to incorporate an innovative sharpener in it as well. I hope Nelf takes my suggestion as a positive note.
