Kaolin is an odorless powder that comes in a variety of colors ranging from white, yellow, and red depending on what other minerals are in the mix. It was originally discovered in China and named after the hill where it was mined.

During these times it was used as an essential ingredient in the making porcelain. Today kaolin clay is used in face masks because of its ability to adsorb toxins without drying out your skin.

After adding water it becomes a clay-like mixture that you can safely apply to your face and easily wash off twenty minutes later. While you are waiting for, it soaks up any impurities in the skin such as oil, grime, or dead skin cells. After rinsing, it leaves your skin feeling smooth and comfortable.

My Experience with Mesmara Kaolin White Cosmetic Clay:

I have oily, acne prone and sensitive skin. Kaolin Clay is proved to have a lot of benefits for cleansing skin deeply, tightening the open pores thus preventing impurities from harboring on the facial skin, preventing skin from producing excess oil, healing and calming acne, reducing acne scars and preventing acne from reoccurring.

I make a face mask fromMesmara Kaolin White Cosmetic Clay to help get rid of my acne and removing dirt from my pores. Then I take around one teaspoon of this clay in a mixing bowl and add water as required to make a lump free paste having a consistency identical to a foundation. I also add half teaspoon jojoba oil or warm milk in it to keep my skin moisturized in this dry and cold weather.

Then I apply it to my skin using a flat brush and let it dry completely. Since it is a clay, it gets hardened and cracked after getting dried. When my acne is really painful, I add turmeric or tea tree oil in it as per my preference. Once it is fully dried, I wash my face with plain water.

It does not make skin dry at all and does not irritate it at all. Moreover, it actually heals and soothes the acne without feeling very cool on the skin, making it perfect to be used in winters as well. This mask also makes the skin very clean and bright and removes all impurities. It also prevents oil secretion for a really long time but does not make it dry in any way.

Do you think that was all? There is a lot more…

When I am not in the mood to use a lot of ingredients, I simply use water to make a paste and I’m good to go. Furthermore, it makes my skin look healthy, glowing and reduces pigmentation and acne after regular usage. Most importantly, one teaspoon powder is enough to for application on my face and neck…

It also makes my face smooth and soft and tightens the skin due to which I love applying it on days when I am going to do my makeup. Kaolin Clay is not only beneficial for skin but also for hair. As it balances oiliness and doesn’t cause dryness, I sometimes make a lump-free paste of three teaspoons powder and required amount of water and apply it all over my face, neck, and hair.

If the mask is left, I also apply it on my hands… It makes the hair soft, smooth and straight and meeks the frizziness… Also, it provides necessary moisture to the hair and soaks in all residue and build up from the hair. Another fact which I love about it is that I can easily skip a shampoo and conditioner after using it. I also use it as a dry shampoo on days when my hair is greasy and I am not in the mood to wash it.

It is also believed to promote hair growth and can be used along with rosemary oil or other good hair ingredients in form of a hair mask. Since it is widely used in making compact powders, I also use it to bake my face while doing makeup. It does not irritate my sensitive skin in any way. It also calms down itchy scalp very effectively.
